Monkey and Duck Quack Up!, written by Jennifer Hamburg, illustrated by Ed Fotheringham and published by Scholastic, Inc., was selected as part of the Beginning Readers 2016 ILA-CBC Children's Choices List. Books on the list are chosen by 12,500 school children, ages 5-12, from different regions of the United States. A Home for Mr. Emerson, written by Barbara Kerley, illustrated by Ed Fotheringham and published by Scholastic, Inc., is a finalist for the MA Book Award.. The MassBooks are the largest state book awards program in the country, receiving hundreds of submissions every year. The Center staff develops a list of "Must-Read" books and name the award winners. See

A Home for Mr. Emerson, (Scholastic Press, February 2014) written by Barbara Kerley and illustrated by Edwin Fotheringham, was placed on the 2015 International Literacy Association Teacher's Choices reading list. Since 1989, the Teachers' Choices project has developed an annual annotated reading list of new books that encourage young people to read and those that contribute to learning across the curriculum.
